As always, I’ll kick this post off with something to listen to…
Music of the Moment: Peter Gabriel, Sledgehammer
This is one from childhood. If you were around when it came out, you may remember just how impressive the video was at the time — and if you just look and see HOW it was done, you can see how impressive it still is. A favourite of eight-year-old me, it’s stuck with me.
I love the house we live in, but having a lot of glass does leave you vulnerable to the whims of mother nature. It’ll bake you in the summer, and freeze you in the winter. Fortunately, for the frozen end of the spectrum, we have a nice (albeit costly-to-run) old gas heater, which works beautifully if you happen to be standing in the right part of the living room. And there’s a fireplace, too, which works for a completely different part. God help you if you have to go upstairs, though — and I think we may have an ice-man down in the basement…
Flowers and Suchlike
Although beautiful in the summer, they don’t take well to the cold — so now they’ve all been rescued, and one of our bathrooms has become a miniature floral nursery. Fortunately, it’s the one down in the basement, and nobody wants to use that one in this cold weather anyway. You’d freeze your backside off.
Go away, pine needles. Nobody likes you.
As a last detail, I went to my first Rifftrax Live streaming recently, and had a blast. Anaconda is not a cinematic masterpiece, but it certainly makes for an entertaining evening when dubbed over! I’ll be hitting up the next one in the near future, no doubt — anyone ready for Santa?
